P-C Seeks Ex-Pat Backers of Olympics Teams
As the 2008 Summer Olympics plays out in Beijing, The Post-Crescent is creating a cultural map of the Games by finding Valley residents to match as many of the participating countries as possible. There are 204 countries, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe that may send representatives to the games.

This event for adults and children features food and entertainment from a variety of diverse cultures represented in the Fox Cities.
We are holding a Foods of All Nations 2008 Art Contest for the program cover design. Entries are welcome from youth and adults.

What does the Center do?
Education … through the Center, educators, businesses, families and community members can find information and experiences to connect with people of many cultural backgrounds.

Promotion … the Center works to spread the word about the many multicultural programs and opportunities available in the Fox Cities, as well as promoting the benefits of a diverse community to enhance quality of life and economic development.

Celebration … the Center wants to let everyone know that rich cultural traditions of music, art, films, dance, literature and foods are available here in the Fox Cities, ready to be celebrated and explored by young and old.


The Center offers members:

  • a conference room for organizational meetings
  • a program room for larger group events, with access into Harmony Cafe space if needed
  • shared office space, with work cubicles and office equipment and on-site storage of organization materials
  • an administrative home address, with access to phone/voicemail and internet/email
  • a front desk/reception area, to serve as a welcoming “front door” for walk-in visitors looking for information or to connect with member organizations.
The Center’s resources also include:
  • an active committee structure and staff director to serve as a connecting point with area multicultural organizations and volunteers
  • on-site staff counsel and services for member organizations for board development, fundraising, volunteer management and other nonprofit issues.
